Letter to my daughter: Happy 18 months Emma!

My dearest Emma:

I can't even begin to fathom that you are officially a "toddler" now! Your soul is so beautiful it radiates. I can't believe I get to be your momma. I feel incredibly blessed.

As you grow, so does your personality. Although you can be very shy at first, you always seem to warm up to new people at the perfect time. Some of your favorite words right now are "go", "yeah", "than chu", "mas", "yum" and my least favorite "no" ;) On occasion you still speak in your own language, which I think is you mimicking us speak English. It's soo cute! You LOVE to sing! I'll have to record ya one of these days so you can hear yourself one day. And you love to carry a camera, necklace & purse around everywhere. Your favorite dolls right now are the cabbage-patch & the Angelina Ballerina. Somehow you always find a way to make Papa & I laugh hysterically at dinner time, baby girl, we love you soo much! You will always be my "baby girl."

And now that you'll be a big sister in just a few short months, I have no doubts that you will be an amazing big sister. My heart swells up just thinking about it.

And apparently, I'm funny! ;)

I love you more than words....

Your mama <3

Quote of the week: John Wooden

Picture taken with iphone while in Pismo last weekend, so don't hate ;)

This quote really struck a cord with me. I know I cannot do it all. It's just not humanly possible. Ever get that feeling when twenty-four hours isn't enough? I may not have the house sparkling clean 24/7 but I can make sure its presentable for unexpected visitors. Laundry basket won't always be empty but for sure hubby will have something to wear ;) You see where I'm going? I may not be perfect; One because perfect doesn't exist, and two because I've come to accept I'm perfect being imperfect. And for good measure, so has Eddy. Every day may not be a "great day" but we can always find something good in every day.

What I want to leave you with: FOCUS ON THE POSITIVE VERSUS THE NEGATIVE.  Its the only way I see to live a happy life. I got bad news early this week, but you know what? I'm not going to dwell on it & let that get me down.  I have to be strong not only for those around me, but for ME. It can always be worse right? Sometimes it's soo easy to get caught up on how you cant do this or how that isn't going as planned. Remember, attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference.

It takes courage. I know its in me & I know its in you too.

Now go spend the weekend with those you love & enjoy every second. Tomorrow is never guaranteed. And too many kisses doesn't exist!
XOXO,
Blove

New Beginnings

Edwin & I attended my cousin's wedding this weekend... everything was perfect! The couple was beaming with love, flowers were fabulous, the cathedral was beautiful, the horsd'oeuvers were to die for and the evening was just a delight all together.

As I pondered during the ceremony on the journey this couple was beginning in life as husband and wife, it got me thinking . . . Life in it self is a journey we take everyday! We decide to make a left here & a right there with our decisions. We can either choose to make the best of another day we are given and do the little things to improve or elect to be a conformist to all the curve balls life throws at us. Obviously there are more than a handful of things or situations that are out of our control, but I much rather fail knowing I tried my best than failing knowing I did not give one hundred and ten percent.

So today, lets strive to make the best of what we are given even though we may not understand why certain things happen, because we are never guaranteed tomorrow.

And with that said, best wishes to the newlyweds... May you always be surrounded with love & happiness!!!

Although I was not the photographer at the wedding here is a look at the fabulous flowers at the ceremony.
